2001 war ein außerordentlich guter Jahrgang am rechten Ufer, der in mehreren Fällen sogar den berühmten Vorgänger 2000 überflügelt! Von den meisten Verkostern wurde 2001 unterschätzt. So bietet der Jahrgang heute einige sehr schöne Occasionen! So ist der berühmte Pomerol Château Trotanoy in 2001 nur mit 90 Punkten bei Parker bewertet und daher recht günstig zu haben. Der tatsächliche Genusswert dieses Trotanoy dürfte jedoch bei 95 – 96 Punkten liegen.

extraprima 97 | Wunderbar duftiger Vieux Château Certan, klassisch, finessenreich und frisch. Große Attacke mit viel Saft und weit gefasster Anlage. Distinguiert und zurückhaltend, wirklich seidig. Ein spannender Wein mit vibrierender, mineralisch unterlegter Säure. Kathedralenartiges Gerbstoffgerüst. Eine Art Richebourg aus Bordeaux. 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 55% der Produktion gelangten in den Grand Vin.kathedralenhafte GerbstoffeSuckling 98 | Stunning bramble-fruit definition, with leathery and meaty complexity, as well as notes of clove and some earthy minerality, restrained dark chocolate and dried eucalyptus leaf. Full body with dense, velvety tannins and crisp acidity. Impressive power with grace here, and an amazing finish. Drinkable now, but will last for decades. (Juni 2024)
dunkle Schokolade, Kraft und AnmutMartin 95 | The 2001 Vieux Château Certan has long been my preferred vintage compared to the millennial. This veers much more towards red fruit, hints of truffle and morels, and is more sensual than the 2000. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, fresh and vivacious with a mineral core absent from the 2000. It is tensile and linear towards the finish. To use a word I utilized last time, there is athleticism in this wonderful Pomerol that has a long future ahead. Tasted at the VCC vertical in Etikhove, Belgium. (Juni 2024)
