Die Appellation Moulis
Moulis ist eine Appellation innerhalb des Médoc. Die Weine sind durchaus kernig und kraftvoll, mit sehr guter Fülle. Grand Cru Classés gibt es in Moulis keine. Dafür aber einige sehr bekannt und beliebte Cru Bourgeois wie Château Poujeaux oder Château Chasse-Spleen. Ein interessanter Newcomer ist Château Mauvesin-Barton, der, wie der Name verrät, zum berühmten 2e Grand Cru Léoville-Barton gehört.

extraprima 92 | Mauvesin Barton liegt qualitativ mit den Spitzenweinen von Moulis gleichauf (Poujeaux, Chasse-Splene, Branas Grand Poujeaux) und ist in dieser Gruppe der bei weitem günstigste Wein! Der Mauvesin Barton 2022 besteht aus 55% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon und 9% Cabernet Franc, ausgebaut in 1/3 neuen Barriques.Der Mauvesin-Barton 2022 hat eine satte, dichte Farbe, viskos. Zurückhaltende, feine Nase, recht distinguiert, weniger opulent als erwartet. Satt und geschliffen, sehr geschlossen und stimmig im Mund. Toller, rassiger Moulis mit viel Natürlichkeit und hoher Konzentration.saftige rote Frucht mit kalkigen TanninenSuckling 93 | Subtle notes of white pepper, cream and chalk to the fine currants and minerals. Attractive and really well-balanced, this has juicy red fruit, chalky tannins and a long but elegant finish that’s linear and refined. Already a joy to drink now. Drink or hold.

Galloni 91 | The 2022 Mauvesin Barton has a tightly wound bouquet that needed a bit of coaxing, eventually offering finely delineated blackberry, cedar and light briny scents. The palate is saline and quite classic in style, with powdery tannins. This tapers slightly toward the finish, but I appreciate its freshness and personality.
