extraprima 99 | Dunkel, leuchtend. Frisch und floral duftet der hochintensive La Conseillante 2022 mit seiner ganz eigenen, typischen, dunklen Fruchtkomponente, begleitet von Zitronenzesten und liköriger Frische. Ganz offen und einladend, allumfassend und mit großer Fülle. Sehr weit und reif beginnt er im Mund, ist enorm rassig in einem extrem großen Rahmen, wuchtig und total elegant zugleich. Lang, seidig und generös ist dieser hochpräzise Pomerol mit einer messerscharfen, finessenreichen Säure ausgestattet, die ihm eine bestechende Brillanz und unglaubliche Spannung verleiht. Dunkelbeerig-kirschiger, intensiver Nachhall, alles ist aus einem Stück gearbeitet, balsamische Note im langen Rückaroma. Das ist ewig haltbar! 

Marielle Cazaux’s Serie von großen Weinen auf La Conseillante reißt auch mit dem 2022er nicht ab. Warum auch!? Hier regiert pures Können. Glücklicherweise gab es nur ein wenig Frost, denn dem ist man schlicht ausgeliefert. Die 13 Parzellen wurden von 5. – 7. September mit 37 hl/ha geerntet. Der La Conseillante 2022 besteht aus 87% Merlot und 13% Cabernet Franc mit 14% Alkohol, ausgebaut in 70% neuen Fässern.

Parker’s WA 100 | The 2022 La Conseillante is just as exquisite in bottle as it was en primeur. Wafting from the glass with an exotic bouquet of mulberries, black raspberries and plums mingled with notions of black truffle, burning embers, violets, mint and licorice, it's full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a fleshy, even unctuous core of fruit underpinned by a broad chassis of sweet, powdery and perfectly integrated tannin. This is the most lavish, sensual La Conseillante of the last decade, with the most texture and density, yet it remains unerringly precise and harmonious. It's a blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc.

Suckling 98 | The freshness and aromatics are really beautiful. Flowers such as orange blossoms with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. Medium-bodied, this has ultrafine tannins that run the length of the wine and caress every inch. Very elegant and vivid at the end. Such refinement and loveliness for the vintage. 87% merlot and 13% cabernet franc. Try after 2028.

Galloni 98 | The 2022 La Conseillante is a gorgeous, racy wine. Pliant and super-expressive, La Conseillante is positively stellar. The 2022 is a vertical, statuesque Conseillante. As alluring as the 2022 is at this stage, it also clearly needs cellaring to be at its finest. Time in the glass releases the aromatics, along with brisk acids that keep things in check. Blood orange, lavender, spice, menthol and espresso linger on the sustained finish. Technical Director Marielle Cazaux turned out what is quite possibly the most elegant wine in Pomerol. The 2022 is one of my favorite recent vintages here. The 2022 was harvested from September 5th for Merlots through to the 20th, when the last Cabernet Franc was brought in. It was aged in 70% new wood, 27% once-filled barrels and 3% amphora.

Martin 97 | Bottled at the end of May 2024, the 2022 La Conseillante takes time to open in glass, as I anticipated after its showing out of barrel when it needed time. There is a mixture of red and black fruit, touches of black truffle and a hint of crushed violet—all very finely delineated. The palate is quite well balanced with a little more red fruit compared to its showing from barrel and a killer line of acidity that imparts a lot of freshness. Gentle grip lingers with just a touch of black pepper as it gains weight toward the finish. Maybe more classical in style than you might expect, this is a fresh, classic La Conseillante that will age supremely well in bottle.
