extraprima 96-98 | Der La Gaffelière 2022 ist ein außergewöhnlich gelungener Jahrgang. Geerntet wurde er vom 7.-26. September. Die Assemblage besteht aus 60% Merlot und 40% Cabernet Franc mit 15,1% Alkohol. Ausgebaut in 60% neuen Barriques.
Dunkle, viskose, lebendige Farbe. Dicht, tiefgründig, komplex und voll, verströmt der La Gaffelière eine sehr feine Aromatik im Geruch, vielschichtig und frisch. Satt und intensiv dunkelbeerig erscheint er auf der Zunge ganz klar strukturiert und mit großartiger Gerbstoff-Fülle. Mit Graphit und dunkelbeerigem Charakter ist er ewig lang, mit feiner Säure und tollem, schmelzigem Extrakt ausgestattet, üppig konzentriert, linear und salzig-mineralisch lang mit ausgezeichneter Balance. So besitzt der La Gaffelière eine beeindruckend charaktervolle Frucht, die an den Nachbar Ausone erinnert und eine feingliedrige Struktur wie Canon, ganz transparent und lang. Einer der besten La Gaffelère aller Zeiten.

Parker 95-96 | A blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 La Gaffelière derives exclusively from the prime hillside vineyards below Ausone that made this estate so compelling in the early and mid-twentieth century, and the 2022 is the finest wine produced at this address in many a year, surpassing the 2019 and 2020 in quality. Wafting from the glass with incipiently complex aromas of wild berries, violets, lilac, licorice, vine smoke and raw cocoa, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, with a deep, multidimensional and beautifully vibrant core of fruit and polished tannins, concluding with a long, mouthwatering finish.
