extraprima 95–96 | Parker 94 | Galloni 98 | Suckling 97 | kreidige Kalksteinnote und grandiose Finesse extraprima 95-96 | Clos Fourtet erstreckt sich über 20 Hektar in bester Lage auf dem Kalksteinplateau vor den Toren von Saint-Emilion und ist seit 2001 im Besitz der Familie Cuvelier. Geerntet wurde mit 10 Lesetagen vom 15. – 30. September. Die ganzen, ungequetschten Beeren wurden in 25 kleinen temperaturkontrollierten Edelstahltanks vergoren und lagen zwischen 22 und 30 Tagen auf der Maische. Der biologische Säureabbau erfolgte in Tanks, Fässern und Amphoren, die zu einem kleinen Teil neben traditionellen Barriques und 400-Liter-Fässern (60% neu) auch für den Ausbau versuchsweise zum Einsatz gelangt sind. Die Assemblage besteht aus 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon und 3% Cabernet Franc mit 14,5% Alkohol, etwa 70% wird als Grand Vin gefüllt werden. Sehr dunkle Farbe, leuchtend, top. Unglaublich dichte und tiefe Präsenz im Geruch mit viel balsamischer Süße, leicht konfierten Fruchtaromen, aber auch massig frischer Kernfrucht, darüber liegt eine likörige, intensive Kopfnote. Etwas üppiger im Duft als 2019? Insgesamt wirkt das Bouquet ungemein ansprechend und ausladend, mit feiner, kreidiger Kalksteinnote vom ausgezeichneten Terroir, tiefgründig und salzig. Satte, weite Attacke im Mund, dicht gestaffelt, mit großartiger Finesse und wieder salziger Prägung, ungemein distinguiert und finessenreich. Das fette Merlot-Aroma hebt sich etwas vom festen mineralischen Untergrund ab und bildet eine ganz leicht hohle Mitte. Sehr tiefgründig, engmaschig, geschliffen und doch auch immer etwas gereift und gleichzeitig frisch am Gaumen. Sehr cremig-feinkörnige Gerbstoffe im Mittelstück, nach hinten kommt das großartige Terroir noch mehr zum Vorschein, mit enormer Energie und Tiefenstaffelung. Sehr festfleischig und lang, feminin, im Nachhall finden sich mehr Kräuter und ätherische Noten als Fruchtakzente.  samtene Tannine, ausgezeichnete Frische und große Länge Parker 94 | The 2020 Clos Fourtet offers up aromas of dark berries, plum preserves and pencil shavings framed by nicely integrated new oak. It is medium to full-bodied, with a rich core of ripe fruit that's framed by powdery, youthfully firm tannins that assert themselves on the finish. This limestone site always delivers low pHs, so the wine remains fresh and vibrant, even if its fruit flavors are marked by the warmth and sunshine of the vintage. Eleganz mit Kraft, poliert und finessenreich Suckling 97 | Subtle aromas of orange peel, sweet tobacco and currants follow through to a medium body, fine tannin texture and a fresh finish. Extremely tight now, but persistent at the finish. Classy. Best of the triology. Drink after 2027.

Bracing mineral notes cut through a core of dark red and blue-toned fruit. Spice, mocha, new leather and licorice all meld together. Seamless and profoundly elegant, the 2025 impresses with its sensual personality, soft contours and magnificent balance. Time in the glass brings out touches of blood orange and white pepper that lend explosive brilliance through to the gorgeous, sustained finish. The team opted for cool fermentations in the cellar. Most lots saw 21-26 days on skins, which is on the shorter side. Clos Fourtet has recently shifted to doing malolactic fermentation in tank instead of in barrel, which has naturally lowered the wines' oak imprint, highlighted fruit purity and softened their contours. The 2025 is positively stellar. Tasted two times. Grand Vin.eine Melange aus roten und schwarzen Früchten Martin 94-96 | The 2025 Clos Fourtet was picked between September 9 and 22, the second earliest after 2003, with a yield of 28 hl/ha. It underwent a lighter extraction at a slightly lower temperature, 24°C, during natural fermentation. It has a bright nose, a mélange of red and black fruit, orange rind and touches of crushed stone emanating from the limestone. The palate is medium-bodied, with succulent ripe tannins, leaning more towards red fruit on the mid-palate. Subtle touches of graphite and white pepper emerge towards the citrus-fresh finish, with commendable length, gentle grip and satisfying sustain. This is a great Clos Fourtet that should age well in bottle.Noten von dunklen Beeren, Pflaume und KirschwasserParker 94-96 | Unfurling in the glass with notes of dark berries, plum and kirsch mingled with hints of iris and anise, the 2025 Clos Fourtet is full-bodied, ample and layered, with a multidimensional textural profile, tangy acids and a long and penetrating finish. To moderate extraction, fermentations were kept cool, at around 24 degrees Celsius, with only punching down. It's a blend of 84% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon.
