extraprima 95 | Der Canon-la-Gaffelière ist außerordentlich gelungen, zudem war der Ertrag mit stolzen 47 hl/ha vergleichsweise hoch. Die Lese fand vom 6.-22. September statt. Die Assemblage besteht aus 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc und 15% Cabernet Sauvignon mit 14,2% Alkohol. Der Ausbau erfolgt in 40% neuen Barriques.
Etwas hellere Farbe. Jugendlich verhaltene, zarte Nase, etwas flüchtige Kopfnote, rote, gereifte Frucht, dezent von Schokolade unterlegt. Satt, süß und feingliedrig auf der Zunge, mit schokoladigen Akzenten und verhaltener Frucht, leicht konfierte Aromen dabei. Gute Textur und Feinkörnigkeit in den Gerbstoffen, strahlt eine hohe Distinktion in seinen gereiften Aromen aus. Das muss sich noch ein wenig entwickeln.
Johannisbeeren und Karamell mit Kräutern
Suckling 96 | Aromas of ripe redcurrants and hints of caramel and fresh herbs such as thyme and rosemary. Medium- to full-bodied, it shows fine tannins under lots of ripe and luscious fruit but is not heavy. The finish is juicy and savory. 35% cabernet franc, 15% cabernet sauvignon and 50% merlot. From organically grown grapes. Attractive already but needs at least three or four years to come around.

Galloni 97 | The 2022 Canon-La-Gaffelière soars out of the glass with a rush of exotic floral and spice notes. Rose petal, mint, white pepper, chalk, lavender and mocha make a strong first impression. Lithe and elegant, but with plenty of understated power, the 2022 is an absolute jewel of a wine.
