Parker (89-91) | Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 les Grands Chênes opens with scents of crème de cassis, baked cherries, herbs and earth with tilled soil notions. The palate is full-bodied, firm and grainy with muscular fruit and a long, earthy finish.

Galloni 90 | The 2018 Les Grands Chênes is wonderfully expressive. Super-ripe black cherry, dried herb, plum, chocolate and leather give this potent Médoc from Bernard Magrez tons of complexity. I would give the 2018 a year or two in bottle, as the tannins are a bit imposing. This is a pushed style, with a strong oak imprint, but there is also more than enough depth to allow for many years of fine drinking. The blend is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.
